چکیده

In the Cheshmeh-Bid district of Khajeh-Jamali ophiolitic massifs (Southern Iran), mantle peridotites are intruded by abundant pyroxenite dykes. A few these dykes remarkable for occurrence native copper associated with development a metasomatic reaction zone. The progressively reacted, from their margins towards center, an amphibole + antigorite selvage, followed centimeter-thick clinopyroxene assemblage and, finally, copper-bearing zone consisting chlorite antigorite. Native Cu occurs along cleavages and partially healed fractures in clinopyroxene, as massive grains intergrown Copper isotope signatures thermodynamic calculations show that main driver formation is Ca-metasomatism. forms at expense chalcocite Such can only occur reducing conditions, agreement analysis fluid inclusions composition displaying H2 CH4. fluids presumably originated hydration rocks. observed mineralization thus interpreted result Ca-metasomatism during hydrothermal alteration oceanic lithosphere. This consistent U/Pb dating titanite, suggesting Albian when were exposed on seafloor supra-subduction setting. source mineralization, revealed isotopes, probably mantle-like.

Lower Tithonian ammonites from the Chaman Bid Formation in northeastern Iran, Koppeh-Dagh Basin

The type section of the Middle and Upper Jurassic Chaman Bid Formation is in the western Koppeh Dagh Basin (Northeast Iran). It is unusually thick and contains a rather rich ammonite fauna, ranging from Bathonian to Tithonian. The ammonites described here come from a 134-m-thick interval in the upper part of member (D) in the middle part of the formation, consisting of an alternation of grey li...

SOME SULFIDE-SILICATE ASSEMBLAGES FROM THE SAR CHESHMEH PORPHYRY COPPER DEPOSIT, KERMAN, IRAN

Studies of three selected sulfide-silicate assemblages from ore samples from the Sar Cheshmeh porphyry copper deposit led to some ore genetic conclusions. The presence of chalcopyrite blebs in the groundmass orthoclase and quartz from the stock suggests liquid immiscibility in a cooling late-magmatic melt. This is in favor of the orthomagmatic model proposed for porphyry copper deposits. Th...
